[edit] How To Learn Algebra

Learn The Basic Steps: Before you can hope to learn algebra, you must first learn the basic steps and concepts of algebra. The basic steps of algebra would be to take a situation and turn it into an equation. The second step to algebra is to find out what the unknown is in the equation. For example, Sally is holding a basket with 30 apples in it; she drops 10 apples, and is left with 20 apples.

In an algebra equation this would be 30x=20

The Next Step: Now to solve this problem we need to pinpoint x. So, if we subtract 20 from one side and subtract 20 from the other side, we'll solve x

Remember The Basic Steps: As the problems get more complex, you will still only need to keep in mind the basic concept of algebra, which is to bring balance to the equation. Remembering this is important if you want to learn algebra.

Practice: Practice is important to really understanding the concept of algebra and becoming good at doing this type of math. The more you practice, the better you will be able to do algebra equations.

Take An Algebra Class: This is probably the easiest way in which learn algebra. When in class, the instructor will better be able to demonstrate the concept of algebra at different levels. When there is someone to go through the steps, and demonstrate, you will better be able to understand the equation.
